Niiiiiiiiiiice !!! I'll probably go with a custom ground cam when I start the new engine. My friend has access to a company that sells them for somewhere a little shy of $200.00.I'm proud for you Kitzy.

Great choice on going with a CI cam!

Thanks for posting up your cam card from Jay.  What I like about his information is:  Duration specs at 4 points not just at .50.  Spring pressure open and closed.  Cranking commpression.  Recommended shift points and maximum RPM.

Notice the negative overlap?

For those who will pull out a cam companies catalogue think to compare an OTS: don't bother, it won't have any where near the information for an accurate comparison.

Installing Jay's stuff is easy too, you don't have to hassel with a degree wheel to make sure it's installed propertly.  Just check lift at TDC.  I've put in three, all were spot on.

I see you went billet core as well.  I wouldn't go any other way!

When you get it running you'll pleased.

It's just the added things that I wanted to do do my cat for the winter, I have not accomplished any of it yet.
Whats holding you up Bob? I hope not the hood.

Nothing really holding me up parts wise. Just time, I still have to finish the one spring in the front and put the front brakes back together, bleed the system and thats it. Than order a scoop for the hood. I'm in no rush, sometime in March I'll be done

I doubt I will be finished by march, maybe the the day before cat jam.

In my younger days when I had no garage I just duct taped a plastic tarp to the hood and attached the other end to something. I did an intake swap on my old tbird in the rain LOL. Now I work on my car in my pajamas sometimes.. oh how things change.

I should of did this at my shop. but I spend enough time there. I'll get it done.
The rain did give me a chance to clean parts and paint them, so not much lost time.

I hear ya about wanting to do it at home, I've been spending more time working than playing lately. Good for my wallet but no energy left to get in my own garage and turn some wrenches.

Sit back in your beach chair, have a beer and wait for that paint dry, and relax. Thats whats its all about anyway, isn't it? Thats why I love this hobby so much, nothing more relaxing than working on your car Have fun ;)

Cams in that's it for yesterday.Took me 3hrs just to set the end play.
Freakin billit timing set took every little bit of free play away.
I will never do this in the back yard again.

The KAT runs. finally, Strong at that. the valve train a little more noisy than I like.
Will be checking into that shortly. Adjusted them twice already. You all know how that sucks with efi. need to run this and quit working on it.
Missed forgot to put my kitty dist. cover on!

Good luck man, I never expected the hassles I ran in to. The garage wouldn't of helped much for me, it was lack of race parts in my area to finish sooner. We don't have summit down the street here.

I'm lucky.  SK Speed is a 3 minute ride down the road.

I only need the pushrods after I measure it up :burnout:

You changing valve springs? I think I took stiffer ones out than I put in.
Hope it all works for you. The CI cam sounds a bit stock toward the E cam at idle.
But it pulls a whole lot different, want to go run it now.

I always appreciate that.LOL.I'm glad you made some real progress.I haven't had time to do anything lately.I can't wait for the weekend to get here.I only get one a month,so,I need to do something.I'll be happy if I can just wash it and get it all cleaned up.Maybe a little cleaning and painting under the hood.I still have all, that to clean and detail.

Yup.  Changing them.  What ones did you have before?  Jay usually specifies heavy springs with the ramp rates he uses.

They were comps, I gave jay the part# I guess he figured they weren't right.

Could have been a rare occasion of too much spring.  You hardly hear of that though.

So, how is it?

Oh ok. Just looked like the belt was going to a smog.

What is the advantage of EGR delete?

I will try this weekend after I clean an inch of pollen off of it.
V8 it runs strong I sort of miss the lumpy idle.

I doubt it will save the world!! It's not something I actually track.
I did go from 11 to 12 gal. pulling it out of my driveway. I only run about 100 bucks of gas in a year. I will check it to carisle and back. I'll let you know.
