Are there any other cars or truck 5 speeds that can work in a swap or just the mustangs I haven't been able to find one in my area
trucks don't use the same mounting location as the t-5. The t-5, t-56 and tko's all can work on a 5.0.
Wha do they come in besides a mustang
Thunderbird Turbo Coupes and '84-'86 XR7, same transmission as the 4cyl stangs which isn't really suited for a 5.0... No Ford Trucks used a T5 that I can think of... All used a Mazda built 5spd, similar to what the Super Coupes have...
Was common in the S-10 but those use GM input and output shafts(different length and spline count)... Plus the shifter mount is moved forward, would probably be into the dash in a Ford...
As time go on T5s will no doubt become harder to find...
Bought mine off of Corral (http://www.corral.net/new/) I have seen them frequently on Craigslist from anywhere between $300 to $1000.
I believe the 4 cyl T-5s have a skinnier input shaft pilot nub. I know you can get a different PN to make it mate to a 5.0 crank though. The T-5s are usually stripped the second the car hits the local pick-n-pull so I've yet to see one there.
I paid $500 for a known good used unit that came with a good cobra clutch, Bellhousting, fork, clutch quadrant, transmission hump, cable, shifter and partial harness. I did have to drive out to Houston to go get it though.
I've got three spares for my future turbo 4 projects, and all things willing, they aren't going anywhere. You have to be the first one on the scene when the T-5 cars come into the pick-your-parts around here. Including the 4 cylinder cars.
Not eight months ago, I neglected to pick up at least 5 4cylinder T-5's at the pick-your-parts. Dangit.

I can't use a 4 cyl one cause of the lower 1st gear right I've been looking into the m5r2 frome the super coupes also I know they bolt on but I can't find the torque ratings for them I know the super coupes have 315 ft lb and they have a hydrolic clutch but I coult use a pedal set for a turbo coupe
i use the 95/94 stangs tranny. they have the same highest torque reading for the T-5.
If you use a M5R2 it will put your shifter into the middle of your switches panel (on a full console car). Its further back than the T5 location.
