My parents specially ordered this Cougar brand new with every option accept leather seats in 1988. I bought it from the in 1998 & since then installed AR wheels (still have factory mags in boxes), ceramic coated shorty headers, 4 row radiator, B&M Transpak, sequential tail lights, dual Flowmaster 50 series with dual Stainless tips, Kenwood CD player, JL speakers & subs & few other little things
nice ride. really clean-looking.
Thanks! I meant to put this on the user rides thread, & I accidentally created a new thread. I'm kind of new to this & still struggling a little. And I like you cougar to. You don't see to many original 87 or 88 Cougars in good shape any more. I know I regret some of the things I've done to this car, but I've kept everything that I've replaced.
It's really tough to find one in good shape nowadays.
Great looking car.You should be proud.I'm not a fan of those exhaust tips, but the rest is awesome. Is that original paint?
Nice cat looks just like mine but without the spoiler..... pics coming soon...
Yes it is the original paint. Since my parents bought the car new it has never seen Winter or any bad weather other then rain of course. Of all the stainless tips I looked at I liked the dual outlet 2 1/2" tips the best. If you look at the tips from the back of the car, especially after I get the propane flame throwers hooked up, they look pretty cool.
Post up a pic.I have dual outlet tips on my Sport.

I put a picture of the tips on my Signature.
Just a minute, let me try to get a bigger pic
Okay, I edited my pictures on this thread to show a bigger picture
They look like the same tips that you have on your car
I'm thinking of selling my polished alloy wheels & buying some chrome wheels like yours. Question, are your quarter panel mouldings painted chrome or is that an actual chrome strip dowm the middle? Just asking because I'm looking for a new one for my car thanks to a little fender bender
The trim pieces have chrome strips in them from Ford.Just find a standard Bird or Cat and grab the pie you need, tape off the chrome, paint, install. My tips are double walled, rolled edge, chromed stainless steel.I really don't remember the diameter.I know I like them though. They are very similar to the newer Corvette tips.
I've got someone on here that's selling me one from a 87 Thunderbird & I just wanted to make sure it will work. Yeah, I think i've got the same tips as yours on my car. I think they were $50-70 a piece & there welded on. The first picture of my car on this thread was before I had new exhaust put on & those are just cheap Oreily screw tight tips.
As for the trim,it's a direct swap.Easy stuff. You do have a nice car.Any mods going to happen to the rest of the car anytime soon?
Other then tires no. I can't afford much now that I'm unemployed. That's the one thing that sucks about having a car that you only put 3000-4000 miles on a year. The tires still have good tread but they dry rot & fall apart before you even get 15000 miles on them. Not to mention there isn't to many brands that make a V rated 225\60\R15 tire. I have been very pleased with Michelin but I'm going to try the new Kuhmo LX Performance\all season 60,000 mile tire this time which is about $45 cheaper a tire. I've had Goodyear, Bridgestone, Firestone, Pirelli, & Cooper tires & they all were py in wet conditions & other then Pirelli they road rough.
