Title: Internal Engine Rust
Post by: Romeo2k on January 07, 2009, 09:28:54 AM
Long story short:
Due to uncontrollable cirspoogestances, The engine was apart longer than i wanted it to.

And a few small rust spots accumulated just below the intake manifold, around the lifter housings where i had some shop towels covering and apparently got damp from moisture :punchballs: :punchballs: :punchballs: .

It's just surface rust at this point, But im really unsure of what to do about it and kind of worried (i always get worried when rust is involved ;) )

I figure i should just try to disolve the rust and wire brush it.
But should i do anything further? like sanding it back flush or putting some kind of protectant over it? and what?

If you're gonna continue keeping it stored then I would spray it with engine fogging oil.

I'll pick some of that up, Thanks.

As for the rust~I found out autozone carries "Evapo-Rust".
I've heard great things of this chemical, And think ill give it a try.

Anyone used it before? How was the results?
