I've done a search on this but came up empty. Has anyone here installed a Air Ride Technologies Air Ride Suspension? I've been looking through their website and granted they don't make a kit specific to the tbird/cougar, they do make kits for 79-93 and 94-04 mustangs. I've read through their past installs on mustangs and this kit looks like it will bolt up with minimal complications. The only part I noticed was that the kit I looked at comes with rear shocks, which I believe would require Chucks rear shock adapters to install. I emailed the company to get their info on specific differences between the two kits. Any thoughts?
tell them you have a mark 7 that some one converted to a 80's inline 4 brake setup and that you want to convert it back to air.
I believe Greg (5.8fastcat) has an Air Ride setup.
Correct I used SN95 kit.
Frt airstruts and rear bags
Hey Fastcat...do you happen to know if their 94-04 kit pn#L1-3000 will fit with no problems? It replaces the front coil spring with a air bag and rear springs with a bag and new shocks, to include the compressor as well. I'm looking into getting this kit but wanted some insight on it first. Thanks in advance.
I used the frt struts, so I had to modiy the upper strut mounts.
So if you use the air bags frt and rear they should fit without any
problems.
If you call them talk to Darrin. If he is still there. He has been helpful
over the years.
Hope this helps
Thanks Fastcat.....I emailed them for details on the two different kits but at least now I know which kit to go with. When I talk to them again I'll see if he's still there.
The air tank dosen't come with a drain so I installed 1 to help with
moisture. i mounted the tank in the trunk and ran a line down thur
the drain in the lower part of the qrt and put a vlave to be able to
drain the tank from time to time.
I'm glad you mentioned that. Definately helps to extend the life of the tank I would imagine....let alone keeping moisture out of the system.
They say that you can mount the air comp under the car/truck.
I mounted the a/comp on the pass side and the tank on the driver side.
Make sure you run a 10gauge wire to the compressor. Like you would for an amp and such.
They say to run the comp right from the batt. but the comp will run
from time to time. My car sets and it would run the battery down
espically in the winter months.
That's cool. I plan on using a Taylor kit to relocate the battery to the trunk...so the cable length will be short in that aspect.
