Title: tallest tire diameter possibilities?

Just a ballpark figure for tallest height in a stock '87 with 15" wheels, mini-tubs, and CHE's would be great?

I'm just looking to figure my final drive ratio without OD, and justify costs for a Lentech AOD over a rebuilt C6.  I know tire size can be a bit of a factor.  (With 3.08's I'm shooting for 2000 rpm at 65 mph, and torque is not a factor, lol)  I apologize if this has been asked before.

With the C6 you wold need something along the lines of a 33 inch tire to hit 65 MPH @2000 RPM....

FWIW with a 26.1 inch tire, 3.45's and the AOD in 4th, I'll run about 67-68 MPH @ 2000 RPM.

Thanks, with $$$ being an issue, I was hoping (more like praying) that there was a cheaper way around it.  Anyhow, here's the advice I was offered from another site:

For tranny, if you can swing it, try to build your own and swap in a wide ratio AOD. You will need one of the conversion kits to mate it to the big bellhousing bolt pattern but with 3.08:1 gears, I think you will be much happier with the results of a good 1-2 ratio (2.84 vs 2.48 first gear) plus the OD. With a 25-26" tall tire, you should see 2000-2100 rpm at 70mph. That means one kick down and you are in the sweet spot of your torque curve, about 2800-3200 rpm.

Instead of buying a tranny from Lentech, I'd highly recommend you do yourself a huge favor.  Go to clickclickracing.com and look up a guy that goes by the screen name "Silverfox" (his real name is Dan).  This guy builds performance AOD's like no other.  He also builds performance valve bodies for them.  The guys who he's built AOD's for can't say enough good things about him.  I'll bet you he'd save you money too.
Just wanted to let you know about another option  Buddy.  Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
