Would there be any difference in engine power if a car was run without lers?(Just headers and an h pipe)

Use lers,it sounds a lot better that way.Get a set of Warlock lers.I had a set before the Flowmasters (and wish I would have kept them),and they were great. They also had a built in cutout on each ler you could quickly remove and then run straight through like no lers at all.they aren't too expensive either.

Well i have a set of lers now, from a cougar i had for about only 2 months:mad: but i havent installed them yet. I only have my headers and my h - pipe on there now and my motor seems to lack power all throughout the rpm range and kinda bogs down. I was just wondering if not having lers or tailpipes could be the culprit.

I may be going back with Warlocks. They had a great sound, great for the track (uncork them),and not real loud.Just a great deep tone.

WTF, has mullet cut uncle lester advised someone else. :nono: Look, on a street car (or any car in my mind) there is not enough power to be gained by completely removing the lers. In the early 90's when Flowmasters became popular, they tested this theory, and Flowmaster lers had very little HP loss and an extremely large increase in torque and gas milage when compared to open pipes. Uncle Lesters 1967 Cougar with a 6 banger was carbed and that went the way of the dodo as well as the straight pipe. Real advice......Keep your lers no matter how fast your car is, that is always better if you drive it. :fart:

Run lers. Please. I ran mine with out lers (just the H-pipe) when I took it to the exhaust shop to have the exhaust pipe aft of the H-pipe welded in. It's loud as hell and crazy obnoxious. Don't do it :mullet:

Dont worry man i dont plan on it - i planned on running lers and knew which kind i was gonna get and all that, i was just wondering if running without lers would make the motor bog down or have less power. Thats the question i was really trying to ask in this thread, im putting Cherrybomb Vortex s on it, should come in sometime this week.

dumps is the term used for a turndown very close to the ler outlet.

An example:

I like the Cherry Bombs Vortex s. I have one on my Durango and it sounds pretty good, especially when i take off at rapid rate of fuel consumation. When I rebuild the engine in it, I'll be going a true dual setup with headers and a pair of the Vortexs. :mullet:  :mullet:
