Title: few axle questions
Post by: 86Tbuzzard on December 18, 2008, 02:11:08 PM
building the mustang strictly stock now *was a 4cyl car*, the axle swap for the cougar is done.
to swap a mustang 7.5 to 5 lug, what is needed? is it the same as the thundercats? I know the tbirds have a wider track. worse comes to worse i can switch complete rear axles from a 'bird. also is there a length difference in drive shafts from a 5spd to a aod on the stang?

all 79-04 mustangs share the same length driveshaft that have solid axles. the difference is the trans yoke.

you would use driver side ranger/broncoII axles or passenger side from an aerostar.

Not sure what you mean by "the same set-up".

To keep the narrower Fox Mustang track, you need to use the axles mentioned.  I'm pretty sure it's Ranger drums you need to use as well.
