something odd happened this morning. I went out to warm my car up this morning and I had left my wipers on last night when I got home. we had ice overnight and when I started the car, the wipers tried to move. I heard a loud pop. I turned them off and made sure they were broke loose and tried them, and they work, but now they don't rest at the bottom of the windsheild any longer, and when I turn them off there is a buzz from under the dashboard. if I turn them on, even in intermittent mode, the buzzing stops, but as soon as they turn off and go to resting position, the buzz starts. it almost sounds like a waek piezzo buzzer. Any ideas about how to fix this?
That used to happen to me when the temp outside went below 10 or 15 deg. It always seemed to fix itself after the car warmed up inside.
I always figured it was a frosted over relay or something like that.

I had my own theory on the deal...as usual I thought too much into it, it's just not that complex a system LOL. But in there there's a lot of good info. Youll need to get the motor off of the arms that move the wipers. Unbolt it from the firewall pull it back and youll see how it's all put together, the clip you remove to detach it from the arms and levers. You can unbolt the motor from the plate its attached to, and youll see some brass contacts. Clean them up and that takes care of it.
thanks! I'll have to look into that.
