OMG!!!!!11!!!ONE!!
...And it was 65 degrees in Nova Scotia today :D Rained like a , too, and melted all the snow :D :D (and flooded my property). Not gonna last, though - it's supposed to go below freezing tonight and give us a bunch of freezing rain.
it was 80 degrees yesterday here!
we where 50 to day in montana...!!!!!!!
Well, it's 1* (34* for those of you using the old system ;) ) and the freezing has just started. It should be a hairy ride home tonight.
you can keep it ;o)
it was 60 yeasterday here and this morning throghout the day were sposed to have 4" or freezing rain and ice.
Been snowing and icing here all week. saw a high of 20 and a low of 11. Think it was 3 with the wind chill Sunday
Old system?
It's our only system. I remember them teaching us the metric system in grade school, saying that everyone is switching over to it world wide.......... 30 years and I'm still waiting.....................
Tell me about it. I do projects in Canada and the US (mostly North East) and it drives me insane. People still measure in feet and inches here, even though we drive in Kilometres and drink in litres. We still weigh ourselves in pounds, but buy groceries by the Kilogram. In my job, I have to do all US projects in Imperial, but local Government jobs are all Metric. Local non-Gov. jobs use Imperial measure with Metric materials. Try detailing a 25mm bar that's 12'-6" long with a lap length of 48D (48x25mm) without going completely insane.
"I have 15M 2500mm transverse bars. How do you want them spaced?"
"Put them at every 6"."
"DOH!"
"Come again?"
My supervisor does this to me CONSTANTLY!
If only the US would keep their promise to switch, I could just move my decimals again. :shakehead
what and take all the fun out of it AND WHO IS US???????
"USA" people was shown that they don't keep promise because very 4 years we get a new sucker in charge with more stupid idea's and promise's he said during campaning........
Putting the 'of America' part in there is pretty redundant for Canadians, since we're pretty sure which set of United States people are talking about. ;)
i remember grade school teachers saying the same thing to us....oh well.
why is that? well ,there all ready use to
saying A after every sentences:D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just the sentences we're asking you to agree with. :hick: (we need a hick emote wearing a toque)
Saying US, or United States (usually just called The States), is just a way of making it quicker to say. Like ASAP, or Canuck. :D
ed ice storm up here :( If McCain hadn't invented the Blackberry :hick:, I'd be sitting here in the dark even more bored. Portable internet - woohoo! Some days I really appreciate technology :D
-18F yesterday morning, 18 above this morning. Bracing for the blizzard coming my way.
Single digits tonight - gotta build a good fire in the woodstove to keep the pipes from freezing :(
My GF is from Minnesota, so she's told me about the cold. Makes New England seem like a moderate climate - especially the northern part of MN.
Thats cold!!!, Keep it there.
That's great news. We are headed up that way at the end of the week. The kids and wife have never seen snow. We are going to be in the NYC area for a few days and want to see as much of it as possible, until we drive back down here to sunny florida...:shakeass:
It's been about 20 since fri. And I've been working in a house with no heat since then.
No problem, I'll box some up and bring it to you!!
If you want to see tons of snow, head toward the PA NY border.
The closer you get to the lake, the more fun you'll have
We just might. We have family in central ohio, western pa and upstate ny, but are not stoping in on any of them. This is just a quicky trip to have fun and relax. My son is home from school (gainesville) and my daughter wanted this trip as her 16th birthday, so we are being greedy and just enjoying ourselves this trip.
Jerry, I just saw your other thread. I am very sorry to hear the bad news. I can't imagine what I could possibly do for you, but if there is anything let us know. We will be in the area, kind of.
Thank you and thanks for offering.
Just drive carefully on your trip and take it slow in the snow
