OK, where's the character map?
Type in "character map" in the run box on the windows main toolbar.
THere are a couple in google as well.
Hmmmm
I got a Mac. I'll try google
Jerry, on the Mac OS it's usually at the bottom of the Edit menu of nearly all programs (Edit > Special Characters...) or Option-Command-T. It's actually part of a control panel (Apple Menu > System Preferences > International). Be aware that using this character palette puts a country flag on the top right side of the screen. You can deactivate it in the International control panel though, under the Input Menu tab.
Adobe programs have their own character menus that don't really sync with the Apple OS, nor Windows.
On a Windows PC it's usually under Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map.
(Had to get in front of the PC to check LOL)
Thanks, Eric
got it

Some of the symbols can be selected by putting the numeric keypad in numeric lock. Then hold down alt and type the decimal code on the numeric keypad.
Example: alt 0188 = ¼ alt 0247 = ÷ alt 0176 = °
Accessories/System Tools/Character Map/Font Arial
Select a character. If it can be selected with keystrokes, the code will be in the lower right corner.
