mid 11s at 110, now thats getting off the line. thats not even the interesting part.
(special heads up @ 3:48)
http://www.opb.org/programs/ofg/videos/view/56-Electric-Drag-Racing
thats effin cool and gotta love the nice red tc at 3:48
Guessing the TC was Michel Pinto(Aerobird Motorsports), I believe that's the same track he raced at...
Not one ounce of pollution...
Except for making the electricity to charge it.
Still Bad A$$. I wonder what kind of distance he gets during regular driving?
very impressive.that video actually kept my attention for the full 9 minutes.........................very cool.
It was a fast car, but I wonder how much pollution is really caused from the coal plant that created the power. I'm sure its less then gas but you can't call it pollution free.
not to mention what happens to those 60 lead acid batteries when they need replacing
they go to a recycling yard. I wouldn't mind one for my daily commute....more-so about 2 months ago. Pretty cool.
yeah, but consider what goes into obtaining, processing, distributing, storting, and redistributing oil products that the end user sends straight into the atmosphere.
recycle!
well that funny because there trying to build plant that create the electricity power by burning gas off a pipe line that run by my home town from canada to billing ,mt.:rollin:
Yeah. It's just that easy. Just wave an envropuppies treehugger magic wand and it's all recycled and theres freakin flowers blooming everywhere
just like in a Disney movie:punchballs:
sorry dude, its all much "cleaner" than past policies and habbits. a change could easilly be a positive thing. money and policy keep us "in the red". we dont exacly live in the most efficient society. im not a tree hugger but it would be nice to see a positive shift in our wastefullness and ways in wich we handle our pollution otherwise.
he claims that normal gasoline sends carcinogens into the air, as far as i know only diesel does that. but other than that he is just about spot on.
We have hydrogen cars at work, they are reliable and clean and the fill station we have on site converts water to the hydrogen and the car converts it back.

That's freaking cool... Maybe it would be kinda cool to have something like under the hood of our cars, eh? Then again, I really love the sound of a V8!
Here's an idea, have the electric motor under the hood and have some kind of special sound system that played V8 sounds?? LOL
At least there's some hope for drag racing when/if the IC engine ever becomes obsolete. You can't make your own gasoline very easily, but electricity is here to stay.
Most pointless comment of the year award.
I think not. Same kind of thinking as in the Republik of Kalifornia that electric cars are the answer.
These nearsighted people are so stupid. Think about this. Kalifornia has rolling brownouts practically every summer cause they can't generate enough electricity for their (pardon the pun) CURRENT needs.
Where do they think the extra power to charge these cars is gonna come from? And the argument that "most will be charged at night" doesn't fly. A bunch will be charged during the day from commuters driving more than 1/2 of their charge to get to work. There's been talk of "charging stations" located where people can use them while out.
Then we get in to the whole thing about emergency workers NOT wanting to work at accident sites involving electric vehicles for fear of electrocution. Or the tow truck drivers not wanting to haul them with battery acid leaking out all over their trucks. etc etc
Sure something needs to be done. But these short sighted idiots are just voting for a knee jerk reaction. Not a solution
Thats why I like the Hydrogen, seeing first hand that they are reliable, non polluting and do not rely on a plug, has changed my mind with them. We also have a ford v-10 bus that runs on hydrogen along with 3 ford focus's and 2 hydrogen stations located at 2 of our ops centers around orlando.
"Republik of Kalifornia"
It's clear that you're a closed minded person with many bitter prejudices, not worth wasting my breath on.
I'm an engineer - I believe in technology.
I'm just gonna leave this and run :hick:

I'm all for the "clean" energy kick in the long run. But I HATE when someone says ZERO emissions. Not possible. I'm sure when I'm 70 Ill be driving an "alternative" fuel car. But who knows.
California has a low electricity consumption per capita.
http://www.statemaster.com/graph/ene_tot_ele_con_percap-total-electricity-consumption-per-capita
And less power plants vs need. There taking electricity from us.
I'm all for horse and buggy. Back when they were the norm, I would only have to get there when I got there. And if everyone did the same, there wouldn't be any deadlines missed....or being late for work, etc... :screwy:
no, there BUYING it from us, and paying quite the premeium I might add. Bonnivill Ppower has a program here for quite a few years where they will weather proof our houses build before 1978 or so for free, the cost of this program is offset by selling the electricity saved to Cal.
I had insulation installed in my last house, and I know several people that have gotten there windows replaced with duel pane for free.
