Post by: 81bird on December 01, 2008, 09:22:26 PM
Hey guys been having sum problems with my charging system in the 81 tbird. I just cooked a brand new interstate battery. The battery was tellin me it was being charged 14 volts at all times..well i got a new alt and new battery..everythings ok but when ya rev it goes up to 16volts and stays...so obviously its the external regulator is somehow wired wrong. Can anyone get me a wiring schematic for it?

Have you had the regulator tested?

What have you changed?

Sounds like bad voltage regulator. Mine was charging at 18v and draining the battery overnight.
