Title: what in the hell is with the fact that...
Post by: sprayin88cat on November 23, 2008, 10:07:06 PM
the rearend in at least a cougar...is narrower then the front end?

ugh...i bought cobra wheels for the cougar..

the fronts fit GREAT and look badass

the rears, tuck in the wheel well a good 3 or 4 inches,it looks retarded as hell.

i guesso n the bright side, with the same offset, and a dished wider wheel,it looks like a 315/335 would fit back there without any issues!

any easy solution to help solve this problem?

im actually swapping a 91 mark 7 rear with disc's into the car,with a 4.10 gear

PROBLEM is,i do NOT want to do a 5 lug conversion,as i just bought real 93 cobra wheels, which are 5 lug...and my bogarts/welds are all 4 lug setups...im not switching all of that shiznit around.

anyone know of a way to keep 4 lug with the mark7 rear?

I don't understand.....If,as you stated in the post above this one, you just bought 5 lug Cobra wheels, wouldn't you want a five lug car?

Yes..have your existing axles modded for 4-lug, or have custom ones made.

He must have typed it wrong, because he started out with them on the car. Didn't he?

Don't the '93 Cobra wheels (the real ones) have a different offset/backspacing than your typical 4 lug fox Mustang wheel?

Well if you're using actuall stock, OEM '93 Cobra wheels, therein lies your problem. They had more offset than the non-Cobras did, thus they will be pulled in more.

The '93 Cobra used the "TC" rear brake set-up and was also wider in the front with rotors with taller "hats" to match and thus needed different offset wheels to fit properly.

But wouldn't the offset be different because the wheels are perhaps WIDER than a regular Mustang or Tbird wheel?

(btw, I think this is post 100 for me:D  )

big fan

my thoughts exactly (http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c73/gmby23/24.gif)

are you positive all four wheels are true 93 cobras?
if they were, wouldnt all four be sucked in to a point? maybe two are repops.....move those to the rear. :dunno:

its not an issue wit hthe wheels...its an issue with the car.

ive noticed in many other pictures, that the front track seems much wider then the rear track on these cars.

even the wheels that came with the car, which are identical offsets all the way around,do the very same thing.

Maybe someone installed a mustang rear in your car.

Only one way to tell... break out the measuring tape. Measure the track width front and rear.
