Im looking for Euro lights for my car to give it a sharper look. The previous lights on it are cracked and arn't even clear enough. So im looking for something new to put on it. So if anyone has a idea of where i could get a all around set for my car i'd be thrilled. Even if i had to have them custom made i'd be willing to pay for them depending on price range.
Iv got a 351 Winser in my 1987 Cougar LS runs great for those that are curious will have a picture soon if possible.
Thanks for the info if any!!!!!
Aaron
Euro's are definately not my style, but, I guess if you like it... No one makes Euro, or any custom for that matter, tail lights for '87-'88 Cougars. For some modifications you can do, check here: http://www.coolcats.net/stockmod/modified/taillights/index.html
im assuming if your up for it, you could buy mustang euro's and get lenses for our cars and mofify em, but it'd be alota work. and as SSX said, you can play with your tail lights now and make em look like euros.
Yeah, if you don't want the chrome look, you can still have the clear-red look using stock taillights. I'm actually doing that same kinda mod to my taillights eventually. Once I get some extras I'm gonna take the reflectors out of the lenses in one set and re-paint the silver reflective surface behind 'em.
pitty that there isnt too much you can do with the 87-88 tbird tail lights. maby im just not creative. i was going to black out or "tint" the rear lenses on the inside but thats about all i could think of. at least they look kool to begin with.
Dude : I dont know if you noticed but the lenses are already tinted???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
pull them lenses off, they are clear
Tbird lenses may be tinted but I don't think cougar ones are.
Walking back to my car in huge parkinglots, I can always tell which car is mine just from the taillights' brightness...they DO appear to be slightly tinted. The red isn't as luminescent as the hundreds of other cars i walk by. When I repainted the black on the inside(which later made the plastic crack...no idea why), the outter plastic does appear to block a tiny percentage of light. The slight "tint" appears more greenish/grey than black to my eyes though :wtf:
Then again, it may just be dirt buildup and weather damage to the plastic. After all these years, its hard to remember what a brand new car looks like in person. Everything ages in some way.
