Hey guys its been awhile well I have yet another fox body question. Most of you will be glad to hear im not tearing up another tbird for the dirt track. The newest victim is a 87 mustang gt and i couldnt find a descent stang forum. How much power with the quad shock 8.8 hold? I bumped up to the outlaw class and have a 550hp(roughly) 383chevy with turbo 350 trans. I was told the quad shock would help with wheelspin and i cant find a company that sells just the brackets to put a 9 inch in the fox chassis. I plan to run a 12 inch wide hoosier sprint car tire on the rear so traction should be fine.
Now I know why my son and I can't find a decent body to do a turbo 2.3 swap into. They're all getting dirt tracked. Why not make your own brackets to mount a nine inch?
ive only seen 5 fox body tbirds on a dirt track and one cougar. just be glad you arent into restoring metric gm cars they have a great aftermarket just good luck finding a solid shell lol.
In our area, fox bodys areq quite prevelant on the dirt tracks. Everything from Lincoln MK VII's to notchback stangs. Makes me sad and mad.
Its not so bad when u think about it most of the guys doing it are getting these cars out of junk yards. Its just another way of using the car up personally I cant stand seeing them made into drag cars I think its a waste to put a car in a straight line for a few seconds. Just my oppinion but these cars belong on tracks with corners their a great platform to start with.
