anyone have a writeup on how to flip the alternator to clear a 90 degree intake?
looks like you'll be doing the write up:D
....I must be on everyone's ignore list! that's cool, I can do a writeup...it'll probably be a lot of what NOT to to. I am doing a 5-lug swap too so I can take pics of that to, if I can figure out how to make my pics smaller. I might just post it on my car domain page.
If you just need to re-clock the housing, no prob... Can be done by removing the bolts and gently prying the front section away from the stator(the least amount necessary to rotate)... Then rotate to the best position, reinstall bolts... If you pull it too far froward the brushes will need be reinstalled on the slip rings, this necessitates regulator removal... May be necessary to remove the pulley in some instances...
BTW I'm assuming it's already removed from it's mounting bracket...
It's not off yet...i need the piping to connect up the FMIC and the BPV before I dig into it. I just wanted to have all the info before I start.
Usually, they mean flipping it to the other side of the alternator bracket. Personally, I wouldnt try it.
Did you rear over at turboford yet?
not turbo ford but NATO..couldnt find anything on there either.
Same with ported lowers.
Which can turn into a trip to the parts store for new brushes if you are not careful.....Ask me how I know
