Title: autmac trans to 5 speed need help

how hard is it to change a autmac trans to a five speed. and dose it make a diff that the car is an autmac colum shifter and not a floor shifter. besides cuting a hole for the shifter the rest of it just bolits in place right?

I did the swap,and the Sport seems to love it.

the car still has the 3.8 in it with out the trans. im planing on taking all the stuff off the one i ****ed up and puting it that body. ya i dont know how to pull motors or any thing like that?

Install the tranny and all to the engine before you do the engine swap.Much easier that way.

im geting the car tomorrow. i dont know just yet i dont have the cherry picker or anything like that to do it. but im going to talk to my grandfather and see if he will help me with it at his full grage.

a 1987 thunderbird 3.8 with no trans with light rust on it. im geting it to day and will take some pics of it.

you should pull the motor and just swap everything over from your old car in one shot.
