Title: 2.0 ranger question

what would cause extreme lack of power and bucking at running temperature?

i drove this ranger enough to get it up to tem and she just starts throwing a hissy fit! i couldnt get her over 30mph

any ideas?

My Tempo did that when the cat was clogged. It would run good for about 5 minutes then absolutley no power and would cut off constantly.

Is it EFI? If so does it throw any codes?

its a carb. it runs great! but after she gets hot shes done.


i drove her all night in the cold air... drive her during the day back and fourth to school , nuh uh.


im probably gonna knock out the cat and see how she does

One more thing check the ignition module and coil-they also like to act up when they get hot.
