if anyone is looking for an 88 cougar ls in really good shape i have one for sale. i am asking 1250 or best offer for it. i am located in milwaukee wisconsin and you would have to able to come and pick it up. i have to sell it because i can no longer afford to keep it. i suffer from broke college kid syndrom. it breaks my heart to sell it but what ya gonna do. my cougar is a 2dr tan cat. it has no visible rust spots, but a few minor scratches you can see if you stare real hard. its got just shy of 69000 miles on it. its got a tan cloth interior that still looks brand new. i bought it from a little old lady about a year and a half ago and it still looks like it was never pulled out of the garage. it has a power drivers chair, power locks (you still have to have the key to open the car, the power locks are a lock/unlock button on the inside of the door.) it allso has an electronic dash. its an impresive car for an 88 but then again its the only cougar i've been in. if you have any questions feel free to e-mail me at firefairybrat@aol.com she's a great car, i'll miss her. i was only allowed to show three pictures if you want to see the front of it e-mail. my e-mail me at firefairybrat@aol.com
ok everyone here is the deal, i really need to sell my car and i will take any reasonable offer i just need it gone i have really no place to keep it anymore. e-mail me with an offer.
thanks
I'd love to take it off your hands, but A) I'm over 1500 miles away, and B) I have less than $100 to my name.
u would have to be able to come and get it and 100 isn't reasonable i mean come on its only got 69k miles on it
It was not an offer.. it was an explanation of why I would not be able to do it, as much as I might like to.
I think a lot of us here are in the same boat.. not much money to spare right now, no matter how much we might want another Cougar or T-bird.
With that being said, This is what I see:
1st pic tells me more than likely a V6.
2nd pic visible rust on entire left side under door, needs new tires.
3rd pic (Why is this pic flipped? Gas door and antenna on passenger side)visible rust behind front tire and infront of rear tire, missing trim in front of front tire, tires need replaced.
2nd and 3rd pic, droopy stance and sagging in the rear.
Be happy if you get $500-$700, if it was a V8 and actually did have no visible rust with good tires on her what your asking for her would be reasonable, but shes gonna need some work. So even with 69k that doesnt mean shes worth what a mint 69k car would go for. :sorry: , Just keepin it real...
the picture is not reversed one picture is of the drivers side one is of the passanger and there isn't as much rust as you say there and the wear and tear on the tires is normal it happens on any car so please back off
PM=
I never said wear and tear wasnt normal I was simply implying that somebody is gonna need $200-$400 dollars for new tires and $200-$400 on suspension work and just because the paint is still holding doesnt mean you cant tell how bad the rust is.
I'll buy it off of you, got change for a twenty?! :giggle: Seriously I do wish you the best of luck with gettin her sold.
And if it wasnt reversed shouldnt it look like this?
Getting a little silly in here for the For Sale section..
Man that color is ugly.....
Isn't that the same color as the TC in the banner above?
(well, one could use a washing and maybe a visit from the Polishing Compound Fairy..)
i dunno...I'm colorblind
OK, back to the thread, sort of:
Kim, it's nice that you came to us and offered to sell the car to enthusiasts instead of just unloading it randomly.. but this is not going well.
1) You're sort of hostile.. and if anyone on this board should know "hostile", it's me.
2) You don't pay very good attention to what's said in reply.
3) You seem to be expecting us to leap on it, when I'm guessing the majority of the posters here are not able to just up and buy a car from another state. No matter how interested we might be in the car, some of us can't even afford to travel TO Wisconsin, let alone buy something there.
I hope you can get your car sold, and sold to someone who appreciates Cougars.. but the worse this gets in here, the less likely it will be.
Ok, guyzos, time to lock this baby down. :locked: If somebody wants her car they'll buy it; if they don't, they won't. I've seen much worse offered for much more $$
Kim: Bird351 has some wise words in his last post - a message forum is not the best place to sell a whole car. You're welcome to post it for sale of course, but don't expect miraculous results - We've got 500 or so members, of which maybe two or three live near enough to you to consider your sale. And we've all already got our T-Birds and Cougs ;) And being fans of these cars we're a fussy bunch, and knowing what we do about these cars we'll pick 'em apart. It's really hard to sell a car to somebody that likes that particular type of car because he knows exactly what he wants.
Anyway, :sorry: that your post went :toilet: . We do cause some :bs: here, but we're generally good guys and gals
