Title: Finished the '84
Post by: 46Tbird on October 06, 2008, 09:46:01 AM
Some of you may have been keeping up with this car's progress in this (http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=21100) thread.  Unfortunately we had to hustle and well... we didn't have any cameras around AGAIN this past weekend.  I guess you'll just have to see the "finished" shots.  There is still some work to be done, the glass needs to be tinted and we need to black out the wheelwells.  But this was put back together enough to drive it home.

We also did a lot of other work unrelated to the paint job, including new 2.5" exhaust with '05 Mustang lers (sounds pretty good!) and new headliner and package shelf.

Doing this car for my sister was all my dad's idea and you should see him fretting over it, he is like a proud papa and excited as I've seen him in a while.

Turned out pretty nice for what started out as a $500 car....

And here is my sister, I hope she loves it.  Speaking of - the car has a nickname now, the Lovebird.  Not only is it pink, but the previous owner PROPOSED to his wife in it!  :rollin:

Good job, man. That's pretty  clean. Pink wouldn't be my first choice for flames, but I'm not driving it. :P Also, you probably should have masked over the lock on the trunk. Speaking from experience, that's going to flake a lot.

You've got a finger-print on your lens, btw. ;)

Oops, I didn't see that part. It's smudged on the right too.

Well yeah.. I would hope a grown man wouldn't put pink flames on his car. ;)  It's for a little girl and it was her idea.

There are tricks for dealing with things like that. :)

Thanks fellas.  This was fun to do for her.

Looks good, what did you guys do for the package shelf carpet? My son and I redid his 83 over the summer and who ever had it before got a cigarette burn in it.

Just used more headliner material over the stock stuff.  The cardboard base had gotten waterlogged at some point and we weren't able to take the old carpet off.

OMG that is freaking awesome.  The stance is dead on perfect and the pink flames look good too (especially with the theme of it being a chick car).  Totally makes me want a 4-eye... they look good white.

Wow that's really nice. The stance is dead on, and it has the Cobra wheels I've been wanting for my car.

I think that's as badass as chick cars get.:hick:

That car looks really nice.  Is it just me, or does she not look very excited in that pic?

I wonder if you could paint the Tbird emblem pink inside or something?  Seems like it needs to stand out a little or something.

Nice work, very nice.

Cars like that make me want to go out and buy a T-bird. Ok, maybe not but if I had one like that I'd be ed proud of it.

Nice work.
