Friday one of "my" boys, Jake who is best friends with Dakota and Hunter, was killed in a car accident. Keely thought of Jake as a brother and Roger and I considered him part of our family. We are just devastated over this.
Jake was only 19 years old.
He had been with 3 other friends and was driving on Rt 33 in Ohio when he crossed over the center line (reasons unknown at this point) and hit another car head on. The driver of the other car also died. The other boys in Jake's car are are in serious condition.
We will be traveling to Cleveland Wednesday for his funeral.
I called my boss and told her, and she worked for me today since I have been crying pretty much non stop since I found out yesterday morning. However, I am scheduled for Wednesday and she said that if the other girl can't cover for me, that she can't give me the day off. Roger said she can fire me then because I am going to my boy's funeral. I only work part time and get paid minimum wage so it won't be much of a loss of job for me if it happens.
I loved Jake like he was my own. His mother told me today that he was as much part of our family as he was hers. He was such a good loving kid and it makes me ill to know that I'll never see him again. I can not fathom why this had to happen to him. It's just not right.
Our family will never be the same again.
Roger & Karen, Paula & myself would like to pass along our Thoughts and Prayers to your family as well as his own. Please accept our Condolence's at the loss of this young mans life. :(

I am also sorry that you have to suffer through this and you are right , it is not fair. there are no words to make it all better or bring him back but there are memories you can hopefully laugh about. I can not imagine what this is like and i wish it on no one.
You take care and keep his memory alive, you are also honored for your dealing with work like this as well.
Our prayers go out to you and yours here at the cassity's.

holy ! That's terrible! My condolences goes out to all of you! If your boss doesn't let you have the day off I'll go down there and set'em straight myself!
Thank you everyone. I really appreciate it.
My kids are going to school today and I hope they can get through the day. But I told them they have my number in case they need me.
We have a load of kids going with us Wednesday. Since the funeral is near Cleveland and there are several friends who want to go, we are driving a bunch of them out there with us. We'll be taking both of our cars and another of the boys is going with his parents and they are taking another kid or two with them. I believe we have about 10 kids going (including our 3) all together and that number might change after the school announces Jake's death today.
My condolences to you, I may not have known him but I'm very sorry for your loss. As for you boss if she doesn't understand would your really want to work for her. I know where I work they give up to nine days after something like this if you want or need to take that long.
It's especially sad when a young person dies that still has most of their life in front of them... Very sorry and deepest condolences...
Wow. I really don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. My condolences...
My boss just called. She has been a friend of mine for over 2 years and it was killing her to think she may not be able to help me out.
Anyway, she got in contact with the other girl Kristen and Kristen can work for me. I will take Kristen's Thursday and Saturday shifts in exchange.
I told my boss how much I appreciate all she did to help me out. She said if it had been for anyone else, she would have told them to work it out if they could and if not, be at work. But because we have been friends for so long, and she knows how my family is, she helped me out.
She and Kristen will both be getting something from me as an appreciation for this.
Wow.....
My deepest sympathy.
Its scary isnt it. To see someone with that much of there lives still ahead of them, be taken that way. I know in a way the pains you are all feeling, its getting close to 3 years since my friend lost her life due to a car accident. We can only hope its not due to alcohol like my friends. Im 17 and that funeral was the most depressing experience of my life.
It never makes sense, cause its always the ones that are smart, get good grades, and are going places that lose there lives in such unfortunate cirspoogestances. Just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach, and want to cry.
My deepest condolences to his family, and yours. At least he is resting in peace in a better place now...

Oh, my! I'm incredibly sorry to hear this awful news. Our deepest sympathies from my family to yours.
My 10 month old son fell down a flight of stairs head first yesterday, and we had a scary day, (hopefully the last time I ever see the inside of an ambulance) but it very much pales in comparison. I was going to make a thread, but this news just shows how lucky Seamus is. How lucky we all are. It is ultimately our biggest fear, as parents.
I hope you and your family can come to terms with this when the time is right.
I'm sorry to hear that you and your family are going through such a rough time....
You are all in my prayers.
Sorry to hear such bad news. We'll be praying for all those involved and wish you the best.
Such tragic news and to be so young. My condolences and I wish you and your family the best in these tough times.
