He thinks hes all that. Poor . I'm sorry hes so powerless. He's in NO position to be making threats of ANY kind, especially "oh werre gonna cut of ur oil". Yea about that. You um already SAID that. Then ya welched. Problem is we're the only ones that can refine the  they try to pass off as crude oil. Guess it really is true to the name :rollin:    I cant get enough of it. I love how they dont immediately realize if they cut us off they cut off their $$$$.

And welcoming Russian ships over, as if those rusting burned-out pieces of junk actually have any hope of mounting an attack against our ridiculous firepower. N00bs!!!!

Just like Ahmedinejad wants to speak to the UN, of course HERE on OUR SOIL. I say LET HIM!!!!! Same situation as this, he'll just make even more of an ass of himself. Their attempts to scare us all are so futile it makes my sides hurt!

Yeah..I'm sure the US government is COMPLETELY innocent of any of the allegations.  Right.  Just because he's paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get him.  He has every right, crazy or not.

The US bullies the rest of the world around and everyone acts surprised when someone kicks back.  Sooner or later a bunch of the "little guys" are going to put the bully in his place.

Those "ships" are Tu-160 Blackjack bombers and are basically a B-1 on steroids. They are "no threat" because there were maybe 30-40 in all of existence max, and a bunch of those went to the Ukraine when the USSR folded.  NATO is arm-twisting them to s them if they want to join NATO, and they may have already done so.  I think there are just over a dozen left in Russian service.

EDIT- The Ukraine had 19 of 35, gave back 8, kept one for a display piece and sped the rest.

I see you know airplanes too ;)

I agree, we (as a nation..) tend to step on toes, i understand it comes with being arguably THE global superpower...but sooner or later someone, or a bunch of someone's are gonna come along and cause a stink.

I'm as patriotic as can be, but I think we need to meddle a little less with foreign matters and tend to some business here at home, namely developing alternative fuels, such as hydrogen...

While the Tu 160 bomber could/would do damage...how many you think would penetrate our airspace to do that damage?
Theoretically, I'd be surprised if any made within 150 miles of our borders/coasts...the F-22 is a mean machine.

Why do you think Russia would bother with ships and planes if they wanted to mount an attack on the US? They are a world leader in missile technology. That is what the entire Cold War was about.

Russia is set to become the next world super power. If you laugh at that, you're not paying attention. They are THE premier supplier of energy to Europe and their manufacturing sector is growing at an alarming pace. Forget India, if Russia teams up with China again, you've got a new world order in the East.

I agree with everyone above  As Chuck said, Chavez has good reason to be paranoid - we've tried to do everything from overthrow him through a coup, to attempted influence of their elections. I'm not sure why B* has chosen to take a stick and poke it in Putin's eye, unless he sees restarting the cold war as a way to have "eternal war" - which seems to be what he's aspiring to have as a legacy.

Chavez is nothing but a big-mouthed windbag who is trying desperately to be more important on the world stage than he really is. He's pissed off about Saudi Arabia telling him to get bent, so he's trying to use politics to drive energy prices up instead....

No - he most likely has a reason to be sleeping with one eye open, but......

DING DING!
Therein lies my Castro reference.....

The problem is that the U.S. doesn't have the charismatic leader we had back in '62.  Haven't had a decent one since the '80s' IMHO......
Will it get THAT heated?  Extremely doubtful, thankfully.
