88 XR7 everything is fairly new on front end including Mustang/Lincoln brake upgrade(rack, struts, balljoints, swaybar bushings a few thousand miles). Makes a "creaking" noise when braking and front end does a little nose dive. It creaks again say when your backing into a parking spot while applying brakes. Doesn't make the noise when pushing down on the front of the car while stopped.
Sounds like brakes...maybe your rear discs arent adjusted right?
I had a similar creaking noise. You could even feel it in the floor boards once in a while on the drivers side. I tightened the six bolts that hold the K member in the car. I actually loosened each one, cleaned the threads, then tightened with an impact gun also making sure the nut clip is positioned properly while tightening. Problem solved. My guess is all the new suspension parts tightened things up and puts a little more stress on the next thing in line (the k member).
for the nose dive, adjust rear brakes
for the front,
have someone watch the lower control arm like on the driver side while you put it in drive/reverse back and forth like that.
Im calling out control arm bushings.......
or a support brace that goes along and under the rear of the trans from driver to pass side.
Depending on what you think a "creak" is, you might try lubing the a/s bar bushings.
I've had issues with the upper strut mounts on my previous cars.
I've also had to retorque the bolts on the k-member, which hadn't been touched since the car left the factory.
Mine creaked really bad when I installed poly bushings. I even used the grease that came with it. I ended up spraying everything with WD40, problem solved.
