hey my name is jon i live in tampa fl. im getting my 88 xr7 sunday im trading a 1989 convertable mustang (roller) for it. runs good ,but i wanna put my stang motor in it the setup is a gtp motor tfs cam,intake stage 1,1.7 rollers 65m tb,shorties,x pipe.my vert ran in 12s! any advice would be great! thanks guys:burnout:

no no pics yet,it is my third ,first was a 88 ls 3.8 midnight blue,2nd 90 xr7 3.8 supercharged 5 speed,loved that car,this is my first 5.0 cat!glad i found this site! i thought everything was interchangable with a stang. im learning alot!!! thanks guys

You'll need to do a mass air conversion, but it's really no different than on the pre '89 Stangs... May need some custom exhaust work, otherwise everything swaps with a minimum of hassle...

thats cool, i got that kit but it is installed in a harness sitting in my shed,any ideas on how to undo the wires in to the comp plug?

another thing! do i need a stall converter for my stock aod or will the stock one hold that setup at a stop light?

stangs have 10 clutches, cougars have 8 and v-6's have 6. I would fix up the aod before you button everything up, or at least get a shift kit.

is 8 clutches better than 10? i dont know any thing about autos,this one just got rebult a month ago. car got 176,456 miles,and the motor is making noise so i wanna switch it out asap!!! before it knocks threw the block
