I have a "rattle/clunck" coming from the rear end of my car. It makes this noise over every bump in the road. It almost sounds like something is loose in my trunk. I have searched all over the trunk and back end and have not seen anything that could be making the noise. Someone told me that it may be the shocks themselves. Has anyone heard of the shocks making lots of noise. The shocks seem to be performing like normal.

If the top shock nut comes loose, it will clunk when you hit a bump
Sounds plausable. I will start there.
Thanks.
Will also do that if the top bushings are beat.
and another opiton,,,,,,
go out to the car with weight on wheels (duhh).
grab the top of your rear tire
push and pull the wheel back and forth like hell till you hear gas sloshing and the ass of your car looks like a cow walking.
repeat process for other side.
now listen for that all too familiar noise and report back.
From the look of your signature, this would be the first place i check.
Sounds like something funky going on in your rear diff....
Or check to see if the gas tank bracket is rotted off and banging on the pass. side
My rear control arm bushing wore out-and made a similar noise you're describing
I crawled under the car last night and the noise I am hearing is the lower shock bushings. There is wear and you can see the movement and hence the noise.
Thanks everyone for the ideas.
