Title: In the dark.
Post by: dw43935 on August 26, 2008, 03:26:12 PM
I finally got tired of using a Bic lighter for a dome light, so I bought one from a Taurus. I have two wires hanging from the headliner(blk/blu& lt.grn/yellow). The taurus light has three wires(grn/org, blk/blu,& blk). Anyone have a clue on how I make this work?

LG/Y wire is for the map lights. It is hot at all times.
BK/LB is for the dome light. It is hot when the doors open.
Ground is apparently through the mounting screws.

Don't know what the story is on the Taurus light. Maybe it has a ground wire? Can you check it out with an OHM meter?

If your dome light is from a mid 90's Taurus then the Green/Orange is +12volts hot, black/blue is dome, black is ground. Hope this helps
