Title: H pipe in hangers
Post by: whitebeastxr7 on March 15, 2005, 06:07:15 PM
I was wondering if anyone has any photos of under their 5.0 Cougar or Thunderbird with an Hpipe? I am trying to figure out how the bracket that holds the H pipe under the transmission is installed, I can't get my Pacesetter Offroad Hpipe to fit right the way I have it now. Thanks,
Tim

I just used the stock 1-hole version. Left-side h-pipe "horn" just hangs in mid-air. I had to bend the right side horn up a bit to get things to slide into place, which leaves the system hanging kinda low (gotta watch for speed bumps). I should probably have cut the right horn's vertical section, raised the h-pipe as high as it could go, then welded it back on.  Eh, maybe next time.

My hanger looks nearly identical except it has two holes.I took it off of my Mark VII parts car.It just sandwiches between the tranny and mount.O.K.,I'm back (you didn't know I'd left did you?),I just called the Ford Parts Dept.,and they have no clue what part I'm talking about (how sad and pathetic is that?).I was going to find a price for one for you.You may be able to find one on e-bay.I'll check around for you.

That's wierd, my car's an '85 and, to my knowledge, no '85s came with dual exhaust, yet mine had two holes so the H-pipe slid on like a charm.

stangparts.com (http://www.stangparts.com) has them for $20. A little overpriced if you ask me. i think yearone has them too. :dunno: which models have the two holes for the hangers?
