Title: bowl blend?

what is it exactly? ive heard it used a couple times before, but i dont know what it is. is it a good idea to get it done?

The area above the valve on the head. Were the port transverse
to the valve seat area. It is to smooth the transition from the port to
seat area. They are pretty rough on a stock casting.
  I can be helpful. Anytime you smooth air coming into the engine.

wow, those pictures do make it look like it makes a good bit of difference. thanks guys
