I wont down to the local bone yard today since i hadn't been there for awhile, and what the heck...
2 more heritage birds, This is 6 i've come across at this yard now in 8 years, and i don't go very often.
Is here something specific to the heritage manufacturing up in here in Washington?... or is it just coincidence.
Or, Are they just more common than i'm thinking. :hick:
They were in pretty bad shape, But one had a factory sunroof! first i've seen on a heritage.
Other cars in the yard (quite a selection this time around).
an '89 mustang cobra!~COMPLETELY STRIPPED. :punchballs:
i got really excited when i saw some big chrome 5 spokes sitting next to it... i dunno what happened the rims, but they weren't even worth the $15.00 a piece.
2 other fox mustangs that were totaled, 2 87-88 V6 birds.
a classic el camino that was honestly the most rusted car i've ever seen, and im pretty sure it was never on fire or underwater either.
and 2 more 83 v6 birds, one of which oddly enough had this on it:

Got the entire setup for 36.50. :D

the fog lights are busted to hell for some reason... but everything else is in great condition:

Been looking for a TC bumper setup for ages. :hick:
Wow, and clear signals! NICE! I have only seen one and it was missing a huge chunk so i passed it up.
yea only 1 set of un-broken clear signals out of the 4... i have a feeling people (even some employees) run through the yard and bust stuff like this for fun.
oh!
And the heritage with the sunroof also had a rear sway bar... was this an option?
I should get back in there and grab that probably... forgot about it :hick:
No such animal -- at least not from the factory...
Yea there was.
It was just a gt that had the word cobra stenciled on the hatch.
It was nothing rare but they did exist from the factory, have seen many over the years.
I started to post the same last night, then remembered the CA Cobras... Decided to see who stepped in it first :D (sorry Pauley)...
Romeo2k is near the border, figured it had to be from up North...
I always forget that.....Nobody ever seems to mention them around here...
Yah those Cobras mean nothing except that it's a Canadian GT. It was supposed to be a way for Ford to keep the trademark active during that time.
the '85-'93 GT COBRAs were no different then the Gt's, the ONLY thing "special" about them was a decal that said Cobra.... they were just a regular GT with a Decal, thats all..
A long time ago, late '80s I beleive, I had a '79 Mustang coupe that had the old cobra emblems inside and out. Strange car, being a coupe and having cobra emblems, wish I had some pics of it.
no such thing... some one got sticker happy...
I know that, I just always thought it was wierd, because being a coupe instead of a hatch.
Of course there WERE the early fox stang cobra's, some of which with carb turbo 2.3's.
not ONE of those was a coupe.... EVER....
Haha, i knew there was something very wrong with that 'stang, especially since it was a convertible? lol.
The busted up rims next to it were deceiving also, aftermarket 5spoke cobra knock offs i suppose.
I did a quick search and came up with this page:
http://www.mustanggt.org/canadiangt/canadiangt.htm
And this picture looks just about like the one in the yard:
Other than the taillight and trunk lid were pretty much the only things left back there. :hick:
OH,
And there was a 98 crown vic former police car in there, it had a nice beefy looking single e-fan~would this be workable on a fox rad? anyone know?
Or should i just go for a mark e-fan?
The mustang cobra come back out in 91 from what I have heard. There was a 79 mustang cobra my mom had on but I think it end a few yours later, I think areound the time the SVO endend. My dads 79 Cobra had a 2.3t just like the SVO.
Went back to the yard again today, And scored again!
Didn't even notice before, But the t-bird i got the bumper cover off of last time had a brand new looking Flowmaster 40 series ler. :hick:
As well as all new 2" pipe all the way down, so i wrestled it off all in one piece from the cats back.
Also snagged the rear sway bar off of the 83 Heritage.
And whats kind of weird is, Both the '83 Base V6 and '83 Heritage had 8.8 rears (4 lug Drums).
The "Cobra" is still there, And more bare than any car I've ever seen at this junkyard... Its basically a frame, lol.
Romeo2k, if you happen to go back and those Heritage Birds are still there could you check on a part for me? I need the instrument cluster fuel guage, the digital version. Thanks
learn how to spell....:flip: :mullet:
Dramatic Effect is lost on you :shakeass:
The black heritage was gone, But the multicolor one was still there. :hick:
Did you need the whole cluster or just the fuel gauge? as i recall the face of the cluster was busted in.
I'm not sure when ill be able to get back out there again, but i'll be sure to grab that for you when i do.
