Not that I want them, at all but today I seen something odd in a Fairmont. It had what looked like an Aluminum bracket to bolt a conventional master cylinder to the firewall sans booster of course. Is this something the mustang crowd would want? I'll go get it if so.
I'll bet someone would want it.Grab it.
Was fairly common on some of the older Foxes...
I had a '81 Stang with manual steering and brakes... Really strange part was, it had the 200cid(3.3L) in line six with a 4-speed manual O/D tranny...
i had a mont with manual brakes
It will fit all fox chassis cars
grab it the rod and the master
I might be interested. I need to do some more research first, though. But engine room is at a premium, lol.
Typical baseline model during that time. I bought a '79 Pinto same way; 2.3, 4spd, man steer, man brake, heater, AM radio. Nothing else. I have to say, I really liked it that way. I put a stereo in it and all the other options were irrelevant in my book.
I had a '72 Torino four-door with manual brakes. My ankle ached the first month I drove it.
Read how mine was equipped again....
Big heavy car+manual brakes= not fun :hick:
Inline 6? It was available in '81 and prob'ly more so than a V6. A lot of the mustang IIs were built with it and the Pinto had it til its death in '80. I don't know for sure about the mustangs but my brother had a Fairmont with the I6, leaked oil like crazy but ran like a scalded cat.
I know it was a factory option in the '79(late)-'81 Stangs but you almost never saw one, especially on a no other option car... Only the early '79s got the 2800 V6, had a '79 Capri with one, and it had almost everything available...
Owned 6-8 Fairmonts and Zephyrs with the 200(but no 4cyl) and one '79 with a 5.0...
There was never an inline 6 in a mustang II or pinto from the factory
X2... No I6, ever... The 200 was too long to fit in any Pinto or Double Stang...
The earlier Pintos only had 4cyls... First ones had a 1.6L(British) OHV or a OHC 2.0(German)... The US built Lima 2.3 made it's debut in the new '74 Stang II, also available was the German 2.6 V6... This was the only year a V8 was not an option in a Stang... The 302(we weren't calling them 5.0s back then) required the radiator support be moved forward, along with a longer hood...This year(only) you could get the 2.0 or 2.3 in the Pinto(believe the 1.6 was dropped), the 2.0 disappeared for '75, first V6s I remember in the little horse, were the '76 models...
