Title: Hard 1-2 shift when cold
Post by: Black88LS on July 17, 2008, 11:42:04 PM
Okay i got this issue with my cougar now, when its cold, say sitting overnight and you go to take off from a standstill it gets halfway through 1st, feels like its slipping and then it shifts into 2nd hard enough to chirp the tires, it only happens when its cold, after driving it abit it stops. It upshifts and downshifts silky smooth any other time. I changed the trans fluid and the filter last week. I'm hoping my trans isint going out. Anything i can do to fix this? could it be the torque converter? the car sat undriven for 2 years as some of you know. any help is appreciated

Sounds like possibly a valve is sticking in the valve body... May fix itself with a bit of driving...
