Title: ups claims, how long?
Post by: fordguy on July 17, 2008, 10:19:55 AM
anyone know how long it takes to get a claim settled by ups? i bought a harness and ups lost it. the sender said he faxed the paperwork to them and says they have not sent the refund yet. ups now says they are waiting on the sender. sender says he already contacted them again so somebody is pulling my chain. ups lost the package on 5-2-08. claim was started around 5-15-08 or so.

usually about a month or so. it depends on if the shipper has an account with UPS and if he is a prefered customer.

the company i work for is a prefered customer, and it still took about a month...although it could be because we are billed everymonth, and we didnt get a check, just a credit to our account. if the shipper has an account with ups, have him check his invoice, he may have received a credit for it

Yep, I just went through the process approximately 3 months ago.  It took about 6 weeks for me.  It didn't help to keep calling them, either.... I never got any new info.  The process does work... but you will have to be patient.  They ended up taking very good care of me.  They broke the front header that was attached to a TC bumper that I wanted.  They had me provide estimates, and I found it new for $225 shipped, but it was not in stock.  They ended up getting their own estimates and cut me a check for almost $400 for some reason.  I didn't call and complain.  It was only insured for $200.  All of a sudden, one day the check came in the mail.
