Title: 1987 turbo coupe a4ld tranny line Help
Post by: jpc647 on July 16, 2008, 03:07:00 PM
I am trying to install my a4ld back into my 1987 thunderbird turbo coupe. There is some sort of a vacuum tube which comes off the drivers side of the motor, has a few sharp bends in it, and then goes straight. Does anyone know what this is for, and which side of the transmission this goes to? I can't seem to find where it is supposed to go.

I can put the tranny in until I know whats its for because I wont be able to get it to the other side.

Goes to the vacuum modulator, it's on back or passenger side I believe(been awhile since I looked at one of those)...

does it plug into the side of the tranny? I can see a hole, which I could probably bend the rubber hose into. Or is there some sort of plug or pipe it connects to?

Modulator is on right, round object closest to the rear... Should have a nipple on it for the hose(pointed to rear on this one)... Since you ain't finding one, maybe yours is broken off???
