Post by: irv on July 15, 2008, 03:42:40 PM
i have a 92 5.0 to put in my 88 XR7. according to the
mustang 5.0 hand book there is a problem putting a
pre 92 starter in the later block or using the 92 starter
in an older block. the newer one is smaller. has anyne
run into this . i want to use the 88 starter on the 92 block.
what problems do you run into and what is the fix.
thanks!--irv

and what gauge of wire are we running to the relay?
has anyone bought a starter from dbelectrcal on ebay?
they have a one year warranty[must be made in china
for less than 50.00] these are not ford branded.

AFIK the blocks and tranny(where the starter bolts, not to the engine) are all the same... The metal spacer on the back of the block would maybe be the only really different piece...
