any one ever try it as a fuel additive? i believe you use 2 oz per 10 gallons of fuel. in this diluted state i don't see any negative effects on the fuel system. i believe it changes the surface tension of the fuel thus burning more efficiently. i think i'm going to try it. if it damages something i can easily repair it.
Tried it three years ago in the '93 Grand Marquis, saw no improvement...
I tried it in my 84 turbo coupe. I did see some improvement. Nothing major about 3-7mpg but that could be as much as a pump that gives you more than is says. Also I could run more boost before detonation.

I think many of these frog hairs people grasp at for fuel economy only result in better fuel economy because the driver is trying harder to get better economy. In other words, if you do something to your car in an attempt to squeeze every mile out of a gallon of gas, you're also going to modify your driving habits. Any perceived improvement will likely come from those habit changes.
That's like those hydrogen gas generators you all have probably heard about. They absolutely do not work (it would be impossible for them to - you'd use more energy running the alternator to power the electrolysis than you'd gain back by burning the hydrogen, plus the tiny amounts of hydrogen produced would do nothing for you anyway). One part of the install involves modifying the car's O2 circuit to trick the computer into thinking the car is running rich. This results in the computer pulling fuel out in an attempt to bring the mixture back in spec. Any fuel economy gains you'd see with this system installed would be a result of running (probably dangerously) lean, not from burning hydrogen.
ive herd people using moth balls in there tanks. im not sure on that one. Some have said it increces octane. i highly doubt that one.

As stated, I tried it in the GM (on a trip) and still got 24-26mpg, exactly what it's always averaged prior...
i read a ton of this acetone a while back and most ppl claimed losses plus the cost of acetone (not to mention home depot thinking you're running a Meth lab).
