Hi folks,
Just thought I'd drop in some pics of our 460 Tbird, it sure has been fun around town!!
Bill
Sorry, the files were too big!! I'll try to get em smaller
Ha, figured it out!!
I'd bet thats fun around town :burnout: Nice bird Bill and welcome to the board! Keep the pictures coming :)
Nice car. What all have you done (besides the 460 obviously),and what are the future plans?By the way, welcome.
Nice Ride indeed :D
Thanks folks!!
The engine has the whole Edelbrock Performer RPM package - heads, cam, intake. The .030 over sealed power pistons and eagle rods have been balanced and I ground all of the flash and rough surfaces on the crank and block. Hooker headers, 2 1/2" X pipe and full duals.
I rebuilt the C-6 trans myself, wow that was a chalenge!! It has a TCI shift kit too.
It has an 8.8 diff from a 93 Mustang with 3.55 gears and Trac-Loc.
The interior is stock with the addition of the B+M Pro Stick shifter and Autometer gauges.
I put the quick flat black paint on it just to get it out on the road. It was supposed to a "just for now" deal but its kinda growing on me, it looks pretty stealthy!!
Bill
very cool man... I always dreamed of running a 460 in my '85 cougar, but now with the gas prices, and the way I shifted towards road course racing, Im glad I didnt.
Yeh, its not a daily commuter, thats for sure!!
With the aluminium heads and intake, it sits about the same as with the 302. I took the sway bar out too for 1/4 so it wouldn't do too good in autocross!
Big Mota!
Makes ya think, those cast stroker cranks are so cheap though! Where's the turbo or the nitrous kit? :) Seriously speaking, where did you get that hood I'm diggin it and is it bolt on or pin on?
I actually made the hood-scoop myself. I used the stock steel hood, but cut all the bracing out from underneath as the steel scoop adds the stucture.
I started out with 1/4" round stock and welded up a skeleton of how I wanted it to look. Then I just welded on the body metal over it. A bit of bondo and there it is!!
It uses all the stock hinges and latch.
Bill
Nice motor and the body looks nice on the T-bird Car would look nice with some drag racing wheels and tires on it.
Looks great :D
So how ya doing with the traction issue with stock size Mustang tires? ;)
Yeah, traction is a bit of an issue, tire smoke at the ready!!:burnout:
I have a set of slicks I am going to run at the track, just need to finish up some odds and ends for track tech.
