Back here in east the shiznit ishiznittin.I work for a blacktop co.
The plants are talkin about shutting down,Or raising prices to high for the tipicle contracter to make there contracts.
This is not good.I see a revolution in the near future.
To see what's gonna happen in the future you only need to look to the past. This isn't the first oil crisis, and it won't be the last.
I haven't figured out what I'm going to do to heat the house this coming winter. The latest estimate is $5/gallon and I typically use 1000 gallons/year - mostly in the 6 colder months. That's 5000/6 = $833/month.
Thanks for reminding me that asphalt is a petroleum product - I was assuming it would be a bad year to get a quote on resurfacing my driveway - you've just confimred that for me :(
i know what you mean. being an auto tech for 20 years i've never seen it this bad. usually when the economy is down we pick up, but since last october our business has been steadily declining. i fear the future is going to make the 1930's look like disney world.
building is getting tough too. 3 bundles of shingles are $60 right now, and thats the cheap stuff.
they're going up another 30% by the end of the month. and I'm sure they'll go up again soon after that
15 years ago, the same shingles were $15 for the same 3 bundles.
It's getting to the point, that the average family can't afford to have a roof over them.
and then to make things worse, I have to charge more to pay for the gas to get to the jobs.
it aint gett'n any better anytime soon guys. I'm working 60-70+ hours a week and still barely maintaining. Thankfully the job(s) i work aren't effected much.
Alls i can say is get a diesel, buy a gun and start stocking up on gold/silver. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
Be ready for taxes to go up again, depending on who gets elected. It isn't going to help.....
I don't get this post at all - what does this have to do with where we are and where we are heading?
We'll be deep in recession before the election...
So long as we keep binding ourselves to one source of fuel, I couldn't agree more.
