I know someone posted some kind of junkyard swap for this but I can't find it...it was a bmw tweeter pod (or something like that) which was very close to the shape of the little cover on the 'birds. I wanted to go with a Mach 460 piece but I looked at some pics and the a-pillar seems to lay back more than the fox pillar so I don't think it would look quite right... who has ideas? Thanks!

Yeah, i read everything that comes up under "tweeter." But that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for an enclosure from another car which is close in shape to the thunderbird mirror cover... Not just a tweeter stuck on the stock piece.
Reason is, I'm about to start my custom SN style door panels to go with my SN dash and I need something to go there to fill in this spot between the dash and current mirror cover and of course to house a set of aftermarket tweeters.
I did have a post in that thread regarding the Taurus tweeter housing. It "looks" like a good fit though perhaps it may need a slight tpuppies. Then again looks can be deceiving, but an idea is an idea.
Oh yeah, sorry, i did read that. But I was concerned about the curve at the top. But looking again, it really could be a solid option. Thanks! Glad you brought that back up! I'll have to track some down now! :)
Is that your car? Any chance you could measure the 3 sides for me??
The measurements for the back side and bottom are there, and my limited math skills would say the length of the angle is between 9" to 9.5" long.
What do you mean "are there?" Are you saying the bottom and side (the two sides connecting to make a 90* angle) are the same as the thunderbird? If so, it should be right one, because if two sides match the 'bird piece the third will as well....
Sorry, i should have been more specific. I meant that the bottom length and side/vertical length were already stated in my post within that thread (post #10). The angle length is best guess due to the fact that the enclosure slightly curved... Pythagorean Theorem to the rescue.

Well Cat-Jam gave me a chance to do a little investigative work. Thanks go to Shawn (Tbird232ci) for being a "guinea pig" of sorts.
One more, from the over-all look of things, with a little bit of tpuppies and (as per Shawn's suggestion) maybe a little heat, this "might" work.
Nice, thanks! So that pic is it pushed tight in? Looks like a LOT of tpuppies and repairing would be necessary. Or maybe I'm not picturing it right. Is it just that piece to the left of your thumb could be hacked and the whole thing would drop 2" and could be slid in?
Why not Grab some extra inner trim plates for a bird/coug from a Yard and work off of that. I don't know about you but that opening looks awful big for a tweet. I could mount a 1" dome on the inner trim piece angle it for best staging. Then take some of that Foam wall board. cut your hole for the tweet in the foam. lay the foam over the trim piece and mark the trim piece outline on the foam. Use a steak knife and cut the foam to basic shape. Now would be best to have a Buck or a Extra tweeter. Glue the foam to the trim piece and take you buck and sink it into the hole so it i is angled like we did earlier. Then take some 80-150 grit sandpaper and work it to the shape you want. The foam it real easy to shape like this. Now pics your covering and cover that thing. Then install your tweet wire it up and enjoy making something from scratch not a hack job to get what you want. Your like the ones you made better. WHY? Because you made them and designed them to be to your taste. But like always do what you want it is your car.
