Does anyone have the part number to the automatic shift handle to a 1987 or 1988 turbo coupe? I think it would be the v8 cars.
John
I was just wondering that same thing yesterday.
Yeh, B&M make a hammer shifter for the AOD, and it friggin rocks.
No # for the shifter. I'll check some different books. I would guess a 83-88 Mustang, and MarkVII would be the same. But not sure.
Mustang fits but is different (triangular shape, chrome button). The Mark VII handle is a different diameter and won't fit.
In that case, does anyone have one? ? How much?
i have a leather one in my car now,no damage to it,and you can have it for $110.00.No,that's not a misprint.
ouch! glad I'm going a different route
i have a B&M handle only. do you need a pic?
I have actually seen them go higher for an NOS handle.I'd actually take $85.00 shipped.I thought I'd start high.LOL.
I'll whittle one out of wood, before I'll spend that much on a handle. LOL
a friend of mine(60+yr old man) used to make them out of golf balls.
I suppose one could be made from just about anything
sure. send the pic to jpc647@charter.net.
How much foxbird?
it doesnt have a button for the detent release.
I refuse to use an old guy's balls on my shifter.......as a matter of fact,I don't want anyone's balls on my shifter.LOL.
thats just nuts.
X2
Just when you thought that statement couldn't go any farther
It does
LOL
I snagged an entire shifter including leather handle when I first switched to a std. thinking I could adapt it. Now I can find the shifter base, the bezel but not the handle :hick:
I am putting the Mk7 shifter into my 88 Cat. No big hole to cut in the floor pan, and the rear mounting holes are already in the pan. What I wanted to know is how do you get the shifter off? It's leather and I want to recondition it before I put it in.
I wouldn't have had the cojones to do that. :rollin: CMON KEEP IT GOIN PPL
If it's on the shifter like the Birds and Cats, you push in the button, and then twist and pull like a viking to get it off.
