Title: Shift linkage Grommet
Post by: GREYSHADOW on June 30, 2008, 08:42:02 PM
For the kick down cable on the throttle lever at the TB.

Anybody have one.

If it is missing, what are some of the issues that can arrise.

My 88' seems to have no real kick down at wot from slow starts and I am missing the grommet.

TIA.

If you're looking for the grommet for the tv cable, that connects to the underside the throttle body, you can get them from ford. They're white plastic and come two in a bag, I've never seen them in brass before. Ford also makes blue and orange grommets, but a little bigger and fit the transmission linkage. The grommets cost about $3.00 each.

Thanks Blaster, now I can see it. That set-up looks like it would never need to be replaced once it was in.    thanks again

PS.... nice camera shots, great close-ups.......What kind of camera did you use?
