Title: Setting base timing 88 TC
Post by: freakaftr8 on June 26, 2008, 10:48:57 PM
Hey all, dont meen to ask such a dumb question (and yes I feel dumb right now) but I might have figured out my engine running py issue. So the car states the timing to be set at 10* btdc. Ok well on the timing marks is that left or right of TC. BTDC reading on the tag goes to like 30 and ATDC goes to 10. When I set the timing at 10* btdc is that near the ATDC or BTDC, when It's at 10* BTDC it runs like a 3 cyl Geo Metro...

Set it on the side with the most timing marks... BTW be sure to unplug the SPROUT connector... It's in the harness at the TFI module...

Well it's set right.. The car smells of rich gas and it has a loss of power at the mid to high end... I checked the timing belt and cam positioning and all is right on.. I dont get it.
