Those SATA guns are top of the line. They cost around $400-$500 for one. Yes that is a HVLP paint gun. They get serious about it.

Then to answer your earlier question, pretty close. $360 with liners and 3 tips. sprays upside down too.

I thought about a $100 gun, but I was talkin to some bodyshop guys and they said you get what you pay for.
I do a lot of custom cabinets for work and need something for stains, dyes and clearcoat. overspray is brutal to get off finished trim and moulding.

Here's a sample of what I do
(http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee79/daminc/work%20stuff/IMG_3682.jpg)

Here they are after they're dyed
(http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee79/daminc/work%20stuff/IMG_3702.jpg)

Finished cabinet doors
they need to be sanded and sprayed again. (reason for a new gun)

What are you doing with the stairs? Looks like they're sanded down, do you know what the treads are made of? Did they use oak for those too?  Just wondering because I've been building stairs for the past 6 months and once I see a stair, any kind of stair I'm usually interested.

Also the greatest thing about building stairs is the amount of puns you can come up with.

the insides aren't color coated. I stained the wood and then mixed a red finish coat to make it look 100 years old. I made the railngs and stringers, the spindles really are 100 years old. the only original part of the house I left. the lower part of the stairs weren't there originally

Hahaha, 1/2 million??  I love it!  I know what you mean because I'm from WI but here in CA you're lucky to buy a VERY small house (in need of massive repair) in a sketchy neighbor for 1/2 million dollars!  Anyway, nice work!  :D

There all moving away if they can. The internet has changed business practice. nowadays, you don't even have to live in the same country to work for someone or a company.

the last house I built was for a couple from southern California.
They sold their house, their 86 ferrari, and their new mercedes to live up here, build a mansion and save tons of money.

x2

Is it 1.3 tip? I'm looking for a new gun too. I've had most of my Devilbiss guns for around 30 years. They still work great, but I really need to get a new HVLP gun. I do have one, it's a Mattson that works awesome for base coats, but I just can't do clear with it. Probably me, not the gun. So, I still use my old JGAs for shooting clear. I can't swing a new gun at the moment. I bought my wife a pretty nice 25th Anniversary present, so I need to lay low for a while. Anyway, cool gun, give us some details.... or at least the tip size. LOL.

Sorry, I missed that post. you must have slipped it in as I was typing a reply.
It has a 1.2  1.3 and 1.4 tips and 32 oz. cup with liners
upside down spraying using liners

20% larger spray pattern
15% more fluid flow
waterborne compatible
9 cfm @ 30 psi inlet pressure
air cap pressure 10 psi

Yea, my Binks was 20 years old. great for the time.
But time to move on.

how about I bring the color, and a few hundred and we call it even?

Its sad one girl I liked awhile back told me to paint it pink, I almost vomited.
needless to say that was a turn off, no taste in cars...
