Title: Power drivers seat problem
Post by: GREYSHADOW on June 25, 2008, 04:37:17 PM
My power seat will slide front and back.. But the tilt/up down function is gone. Right or left on the stick will raise the right rear side of the seat and thats it. Same for the tilt levers

I'd imagine that the tilt motor is messed up? Maybe there is a common issue that I am not fam with?

I can sit/drive in it fine as is, but I am the kinda car guy thats wants EVERYTHING to work. This car deserves to be fully restored!!

TIA?

I would check the seat track and lube it up. If one side is moving the other might be stuck. Worth a shot.

do your switches work?
can you hear the motor and see the lights dim when the car isn't running?

The "stick" works front to back... Side to side it just lifts the right rear a little bit and stops. The left tilt toggle does the same thing. The right tilt toggle is broken and does not function (the switch is broke/bout to fall out of the control panel).

The power seats are cable driven. Three motors, might be one unit, three cables, one for raising the front, one for raising the rear and one for forward and back movement, all have a cross shaft so both sides move the same.

I'll just have to remove the seat and see whats going on.
