I didnt get an answer from my other post so I'll ask again. I have an 85 XR7 that I am swapping a 302 into can I still use the old fuel pump or do I need to step up to an inline pump or something? Anything would help.
NO you need to use a mechanical pump or a low pressure inline.
Simple enough i think!
Is the 302 EFI or carb?
And when you answer this THEN you can get the
correct answer =)
He did mention in another thread that for some reason he is going carbed????
Lack of experience to do the efi swap i'm guessing.
hey now, there is nothing wrong with carbs.... I love my capris carbed motor.
Yes, you can run the electric pump on the car with a carb. You just need to use a pressure regulator, such as the ones made by Holley. I ran this setup on my old '86 Cougar with a carbed 351w. :burnout:
What regulator did you use that will take 100psi down to 5-6????
What stock style pump puts out 100 PSI?
I don't think anyone put down carb motors.
Dead ended, any of them... As mentioned there are regulators which can lower pressure, guessing a return to the tank is still required...
me and Chris use to hang out quite abit and I know he prefers the Fuelie over the carbs, especially since he was bugging me to do a fuelie swap on the Capri.:mullet:
This is like the one I used. Pressure line in one, return line out, carb feed out of the other. :burnout:
mmmm wasn't thinking of that!
