Title: For Sale...'87 Cougar 20th Anniversary Edition!!!
Post by: ilikesta on June 06, 2008, 10:30:45 PM
I've got an '87 Cougar for sale in Salina KS....I am asking $700 or best offer for it. It runs great, body is straight, would make a great restoration. I have driven it daily for 6 months never any problems. Interior is not in the greatest of shape. I thought I would throw it up on here and give someone who actually appreciates these cars a chance to buy it before I list it locally and sell it to someone who will drive it til it dies!! I am gonna list it here for a week then list it locally. Anybody interested let me know!

if anyone is interested, i recenly found an interior cloth that matches the 20th interior.  Its not the exact stuff but it is very hard to tell them apart.

Looks to be pretty good shape apart from the missing trim peice and speaker cover. Someone needs to buy this and fix it up.

It's close enough to me that it's feasible, and I'm going to try to.

dig up all threads by jcassity and IIRC, the interior match is in body/appearance.  700 isnt a bad price but thats my opinion.  Many cars in that shape pull the same amount.

It would be nice to have an under the hood shot and to see what the seats look like with the covers off.

What is the deal with the gold grille?  Did some dealers have some of the grilles gold plated with that electro-plate stuff or is this a New York car show car?

Unless the car got completly effed up by a tree falling on it that aint no reason to s it. Some hail damage and a busted windsheild does not equate s. I realize to some people these cars aint worth squat but come on at least part it out, I mean theres parts on there that are an absolute PITA to find simply because its a 20th anny. Sorry for the rant, Ive had a couple beers today and I'm gettin tired of seeing cars sped just because.

FordTruckFreek I hope you get this car and save it.

I would love to part it out but I don't have the time to take the parts off, package them for shipping and all that goes along with that. I am willing to sell the entire car for $250. I am confident the car is in good enough shape to drive anywhere, albeit with a cracked windshield. So if anyone as anywhere near here they are welcome to come and drive it or trailer it home and part it out or restore it or do whatever with it. It has a solid 5.0 in it...never gave me any problems. That being said, I am going to be advertising it in the local shopper here next week and see if I can sell it before I junk it!! I really like these cars and know that they are rare..I wish I had the time and skills to restore it because I think they are awesome looking cars...but I don't! So anybody that is interested let me know! Thanks.

To be honest I dont blame you for not wanting to part it out, I mean I usually try to sell cars whole because I dont feel like messing with all packaging and shipping  either. Hopefully someone buys it off of you and is able make good use of it.

I just looked it up, you are nine hours away from me. If you weren't so far away I would buy that car in a heartbeat. I'm actually looking for a decent cougar or thunderbird with nice interior parts. I also think that $250 is WAY too cheap!
