Pinks All Out is coming to Summit Motor Sports Park (formally Norwalk) this Friday and Saturday 6-6, 6-7. My friend's Fiancé’s stepdad is racing an '83 T'Bird. Don't know when the show is going to air, but thought that I would give everyone a heads up.
so how did he do its going into Sunday morning
My mechanic is racing his Mustang up there as well...haven't heard from him yet either.
He wasn't selected for the top 32 (which were all seperated by only 1/10 of a second), but he ran a low 11 quarter. A little more specs on the car. Its an '86 with a 460, full cage, tubbed with a 9" rear. He was saying that on a cool night he can hit the high 10s range. The winner (a charger) for the whole night was lucky. In the top 8, the guy he raced against jumped, so the charger won by default (although the Mustang smoked him) Then, the final race was the Charger VS. another Mustang. Charger won the first race, and as they were staging for the second race, the MUstang stalled, and instead of waiting for the Mustang to get started, the Charger went down the track to win the whole thing. Pretty unsportman-like if you ask me. All in all it was really fun. I remember the first couple of Pinks shows, they would pan up in the stands an there would be about 15 people in them. According to the announcer they had a record turn out yesterday, both in number of cars (they capped it at 500) and in number of spectators.
June 27 and 28th! Gateway International! Ill be there all day both days! Cant wait! I took off like 3 months ago!
