Dig the "Buy it now" price
I'd snap it right up if it didn't have 1 million miles on it :hick:
I remember when I used to do drugs too.
really? the guys i know who did/do drugs
that good, cant remember shiznit :rollin:
Dunno, wouldn't surprise me if he got it. Between the auction shows on the idiot box and the craziness that is the internets, who knows.
Just think, somebody bought at least 111,111 gallons of gas for that car.
The link you attached is different than the pic.
As for the Link, $7500 for an old bird with an overworked 4cyl and fading paint... he's high, But good luck to him.
Now as for the car in the pic. 428CJ & 4speed if that is truly a 1 of 1 as he says it is, I would need to hear more history before I passed Judgment. last time I remember a 1 of 1 selling
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPES8hxU4dM
it went for 5mil
So 85,000... sheeeet that's pocket change to people that buy cars like this. Are you guys are forgetting this day and age where CEO's are making Millions a year and corporations making Billions.I would(read Could) never spend that on a car but there are those out there that would/could.
Oooops!
Here's the correct link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercury-Cougar-XR7-1971-Mercury-Cougar-429-Cobra-Jet-4-speed-1-of-1-XR7_W0QQitemZ260245058663QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item260245058663&
And the Marti report for the car......
Well, the "1 of 1" based on color only is pushing it a bit, but I must admit if I was going to want one for a collection, say I had a goal of collecting one of every 428CJ's ever build (Jay Leno types), AND I had big $ to spend to do this (again Kay Leno types). Then of the 18, the BLACK cat would be the cat of choice. And under $100k for one totally restored to NEW condition would be a deal.
That's not necessarily true... Yes it is one of 18 429CJs WITHOUT Ram Air(and the only black one), but AFIK the 429 Ram Air engine had a different code in the VIN... So there were likely twice or three times as many built with Ram Air(still extremely rare)... Anyway that puke green interior doesn't do a thing for me...
LOL no kidding... whoever came up with THAT idea should have been fired!
