I just missed a pair of 86 'birds go through the local auction on Friday night. Both had front end damage. One was a very nice black, v8, not a bit of rust, wing windows and the other was a red v6 model. I was over checking them out and they new owner came over and asked if I wanted to buy them. I asked what he paid---$425 for the pair. I said that was a good deal, he said "yea, especially with s prices so high." Right to the s yard they went.
I'm hearing those stories a LOT lately. And worse, with s prices going through the roof right now,our kind of cars don't stand a chance in the salvage yards anymore. We better start stockpiling parts.I know I am.
Horse's @$$!!!!!!! that sucks.
I think this is a big reason why I can't find an 87-88 anywhere near me. They keep getting crushed.
It's a shame. I remember trying to sell a TC converted to 5.0 here awhile back for $75 and nobody wanted it. No rust either. I think car s here is $10/100lbs.
when i bought mine back from the auction last month thats almost where it wound up, the syard. they came mob deep and bid on every single car there. ive been going to the auctions frequently for about 8 years and i never saw every car sell before, ever.
s must be worth alot than i though right now because some of those non running, crashed POSes went for some actual money, like street value almost:toilet:
i wasnt going to let that happen to mine:flip:
Time to find me a 1st gen SVT Lightning and a trailor and start hauling off 3rd Gen camaros.
