That looks great.  Are you going to split the intake into banks and run one per?

It has been in my blue bird for the last 4 years but I pulled it out to install a new oil pump to keep the turbos happy so I cleaned up a few things while I had it out. In a year or two I will most likley be designing a completly new twin turbo set up for a 351 engine that can make more power with out spliting the block.

That looks 2 nice man now i gotta at least try and wash my car today.

About how much power do you think that set-up might make?

Can you give some details about your setup?  Brand of turbos, amount of boost, fuel system, cost, etc...

I'm really liking this and may go to a turbo setup in the future.

Is that paint or a thermal coating on the exhaust, and how did it hold up?

Oh yeah, effin' sweet setup.

Just outta curiosity what kind of internals are you running? Stock forged or aftermarket? Been pondering a similar setup myself just havent decided on a plan of attack yet. There just aint nothin like the sound of a V8 with two whistles on it.

The coating on the headers it actually paint made for BBQ grills and seems to do pretty good. This will be the first time I have used this particular brand of BBQ paint by Krylon which was recommended to me by Evergreen turbo who put together these turbos for me. My down pipes from the turbos to the x-pipe are ceramic coated. My fuel system consists of a 255 Walbro intank pump with 42lb fuel injectors. The block is stock 91 mustang components but I am running an F-303 cam and GT-40 iron cylinder heads from a 96 Explorer. I also have a 75 mm throttle body. The intake is factory but I polished it. My PVC is still functional until under boost then I rely on the filter to vent gases to the atmosphere. I have been running 10 to 11 psi of boost for the last couple years but would like to bump it up to 15 or 16 this year with a water methanol injection kit I plan to make. As far as horse power I have never been confident enough in my tune to dyno it but new I purchased the AEM system and have no gained some more confidence in my tune. I should be around 500 hp but that’s just a rough guess. As far as cost goes the biggest expense was the AEM engine management. Also one thing I learned is that o-ring the heads is the only to hold the boost in. The first summer I took out 4 head gaskets. It was a steep learning curve on tuning but the AEM is great and gives me complete control now.

Approximate costs
AEM Engine Management system ------------------------------------$2000
42lbs Fuel Injectors-------------------------------------------------------$299
Walbro 255 liter per hour fuel pump-----------------------------------$200
Laptop for AEM----------------------------------------------------------$500
Pair of Garrett T3/T4 hybrid Turbos-----------------------------------$1000
Headman Headers modified by me! -----------------------------------$50
Vecco Intercooler---------------------------------------------------------$350
Stainless Oil hoses--------------------------------------------------------$200
Intake tubing---------------------------------------------------------------$60
Exhaust tubing-------------------------------------------------------------$150
AEM Wideband O2 sensor----------------------------------------------$200
Autometer Boost Gauge-------------------------------------------------$40

That’s all I could think of off the top of my head. Again these are not exact prices

Not to doubt, but why would you by a 2K standalone?

I disagree on the head "O" ring for only 10 lbs of boost.

I have guys running 12 plus LBS of booost with a Felpro 1011-1 head gasket

Yes, but is it as powerful as that one kid's TT Supra motor he's putting in his Cougar?  :mullet:

I bought the stand alone so I don’t have to pay for a tune every time I want to make a change. I am not sure the exact cost of a tune but this is better than any chip plus when I tune it I know every setting and I am not depending on somebody else to tune it. I do everything myself. I used to have an Anderson PMS piggy back system but was not the ideal system for tuning an engine. For me it was a toss up between FAST Engine Management system and the AEM and after a recommendation from Mike at http://www.toohighpsi.com I bought the AEM and have not regretted it yet. It has a ton of features from boost control to traction control to data logging. As far as o-ring the heads it probably would not have needed to be done but the surface finish on the deck of the block was not the greatest so this was the only solution to my head gasket problem with out remachining the block. When this block lets go I plan to go for a 351 so I am not going to remachine the block or rebuild the engine.

K, I was just curious.

Sound good. Haven't have much dealing with an AEM. What was
the advagtes of the AEM? I've tuned a couple FAST cars.
I agree completly about the PMS. THey are very difficult to get
any drivablity out of them.
Work well WOT but that is the only time.

From what I gathered the AEM is almost identical to the FAST system but the AEM comes with all features were as the FAST system charges more for additional features such as datalogging. The best part is that the AEM was plug n play into my existing harness but the FAST system needed to be rewired from scratch. I see you have an SCT banner on your car. I have heard good things about them. I saw a twin turbo ford gt making 1000 hp that was tuned with SCT. They are just a chip right? What is needed to burn your own chips so you dont have to pay for a tune?
